Targeted Tissue Biopsy Also Identifies Seed Placement

St. Louis – TargetScan Touch, from Envisioneering Medical Technologies, uses TargetScan technology – combining a motionless probe with prostate mapping and 3-D image acquisition technology – to target tissue for biopsy samples that allow the physician to correlate pathology results with a location within the gland. Ultrasound images enable the clinician to view seed locations after implantation to verify planned cancer targets. The new system features a touch-screen monitor, detailed reporting functions, and compact design.
